Cablebox ("the App") is an iOS application developed by Ignacio Palacio ("Natxo", "we", "us"). This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data. In short: your data is yours. We do not collect, track, or share your information with anyone.
Information the App Stores
Cablebox lets you organize your cables, gadgets, and tech accessories. The information you enter in the App is stored locally on your device and includes:
- Item names and categories
- Notes and descriptions you add
- Photos you capture or select
- GPS coordinates and address (only if you manually enable location tagging, optional)
- Tags and folders you create to organize your items
- Creation and modification dates
How Your Information Is Used
All information is used exclusively to provide you with the App's functionality: organizing, searching, and managing your items. We do not use your data for any other purpose. There is no:
- Analytics or usage tracking
- Advertising or user profiling
- Data sharing with third parties
- User accounts or registration
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in two ways:
Local Storage
All data is saved on your device using SwiftData. Data is protected by iOS built-in security, including device encryption.
iCloud Sync
If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs through CloudKit's private database. This means:
- Data is end-to-end encrypted
- Only syncs to your own devices linked to your Apple account
- Neither the developer nor Apple can access your private database contents
- Sync is subject to Apple's terms of service and iCloud privacy policy
Third-Party Services
Cablebox does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking tools. The App exclusively uses native Apple frameworks and makes no network connections except for iCloud sync managed by the operating system.
Device Permissions
The App may request the following permissions, all optional:
Camera
To take photos of your items directly from the App.
Location (While Using)
To optionally tag your items with the location where they are stored. Location is captured once per item and saved locally and in your private iCloud, never sent to external servers.
Photo Library (Write)
To save item photos to your photo library if you choose to.
Data Retention & Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- You can delete individual items at any time
- You can delete all App data at once from Settings
- Uninstalling the App automatically removes all local data
- iCloud data can be managed through your device's iCloud settings
Children's Privacy
Cablebox does not collect personal data from any user, including children under 13. The App requires no registration, does not request personally identifiable information, and contains no advertising or in-app purchases targeted at children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised update date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
